Unlike the other four members of the group, she represented herself at trial,〔(R. v. Belmas )〕 and rejected the political stance of her co-conspirators which led her to those actions. She was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but on appeal had her sentence reduced to 15 years. After prison, Juliet attended Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and completed a degree in film. She has since produced a number of independent art films on the conditions of women in prison.
